With cloven hooves, the horns of a stag, and the ability to change colour at will, the mythical Parandrus was celebrated in medieval bestiaries for its chameleon-like versatility. With repertoire spanning from the 12th Century to new commissions, the Parandrus ensemble is similarly at home on both old and new ground.
The Chineke! Orchestra was founded in 2015, and has been an Associate Orchestra of the Southbank Centre since its launch concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. In 2019 the foundation was the recipient of the inaugural RPS Gamechanger Award.
